Rob is a very experienced and highly expert teacher who has a long track record of delivering top grades at A level and GCSE.

Thank you for being such an amazing chemistry tutor, I’ve learned to enjoy chemistry and understand it more since I’ve been in your set.

Thank you for being a great chemistry teacher and making sure I will be set up for the GCSE, especially catch up on the topics that were new to me when joining Charterhouse this year. Thank you for always being patient and helpful and making sure my stress is minimal. Thank you for all your support and doing everything you can to help me get the best possible grade in Removes and later next year at GCSE

I’m just writing to thank you for all your support before the exams and for all the advice – it really meant a lot to have your belief in me and it really helped me feel more confident and made me perform much better. Thank you for everything, and I hope you have a great summer.

Rob is a highly experienced Chemistry teacher and excellent classroom practitioner. His calm and supportive approach, combined with extensive knowledge of both the subject matter and exam board requirements allows his students to unlock their full potential and brings out the best in them. He builds strong working relationships with students whilst generating a purposeful working atmosphere in which they feel comfortable learning from mistakes and draw on his expertise to develop their understanding and skills further. In short, Rob is a very safe pair of hands and an obvious choice for anyone looking for tuition in Chemistry.

As Head of Chemistry, I was fortunate enough to have Rob working alongside me in the Chemistry department at Charterhouse school for three years. In this time, I saw for myself the experience he brought to his teaching. The approach he applies when introducing concepts to pupils is rooted in the absolute belief that they can achieve in the subject and that his support facilitates this progress. Rob is equally adept in aiding those who find the subject challenging to achieve their desired outcome whilst also being more than capable of extending the most able beyond their given specifications.

What sets Rob apart is the incredible compassion and patience he brings to his teaching. He understands that a deep understanding in Chemistry cannot be rushed. He gets the balance just right between giving pupils space to consolidate and apply their learning whilst also maintaining momentum introducing concepts in a synoptic manner. Underpinning this is the trust he establishes with his pupils, giving them the confidence to take risks and grow their understanding of Chemistry.

Rob is an outstanding teacher of chemistry. His subject knowledge is first rate and he is innovative with his explanations of complex material.  He has decades of experience in several top Independent Schools and across all courses and examination specifications. He teaches in an engaging fashion and his pupils are always full of praise for his kindness and patience. He is just as successful with high performing pupils, teaching for the top grades, as those who have been disengaged and struggling to get to grips with fundamental principles. He is interested in people and his pastoral care for his pupils also sets him apart.  He comes with my warmest recommendation.
